the logistics

Welcome!

Victoria came up with the idea - I just agreed to go along. The preparation must begin, St Cuthbert's Way here we come!

Idea
To follow the life and footsteps of St Cuthbert through the Scottish and English Borders, raising money for Eco-congregation (for more info on that and to donate, see my JustGiving site here!  But we don't just want to walk the walk, we are going to take the time to make this a reflective journey, so we are looking for suggestions of ideas to contemplate, prayers or meditations - so please do get in touch!
Location
I've spent the morning endulging my nerdy love for maps, and sketched out the trail as best as I could going by a rough outline on a brief information sheet and guessing by terrain. I'm missing 6 miles but I imagine I haven't turned enough corners - but the general idea is there! See the map and the altitude graph here!

Dates
We will be leaving Melrose on September 1st to arrive at Holy Island on September 4th by lunchtime we hope! We will spend the nights wild camping in the hills, and eating bread and cheese in the true style of pilgrimaging (or what I imagine to be pilgrimaging). People are welcome to join us for a day or the whole thing but do let us  know and be aware that you are responsible for your health, safety and all other liability related issues. The best time to join us would be the last day, from Beal to Holy Island itself. A celebratory lunch on Lindisfarne will definitely be in order!

I'll be updating this blog with pictures and training updates, which means I need to start training! Thanks for following and your support :)
